After a document is routed for approvals, email notifications are sent to everyone on the Route. This would include the PI, CoPI(s) if any, Department Heads of the PI's and the CoPIs' departments and Deans of their schools.
These signatories will need to provide their approval and/or comments about the document.
If any signatory does not approve the document, the Document Creator and PI will be notified of the same along with that signatory's remarks. The document will be reverted back to Draft status to allow changes and re-routing.
If all signatories approve the document, the document will move into Submitted to OSP status where the OSP specialist will start handling the document.
The document's status in it's route can be tracked at any time using the document tracker
