Prior to joining UTD, Mr. Karrah taught for 6 years in the CS department at New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) and was a dept chair at NMJC from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Karrah received the Excellence in Advisement Award for the 2004-2005 school year.

Honors and Professional Development
  • Received excellence in advisement award for 2005-2006 school year.
  • Organized and Implemented developing a curriculum process per the New Mexico State vocational technical Standards to evaluate current Computer Science curriculum and make necessary recommendations to meet the service area industry needs.
  • Faculty Senate President for the Year 1998-99.
  • Active member of Several Standing committees of the college.
  • Chaired the College standing committee on student retention and sub committee on assessing Basics Skills for admissions.
  • Attended several technical-training programs in India and Europe.
  • Served as a consultant in evaluating Polyurethane plants for a financial Institution in India.
  • Participated in a national convention for eliminating the use of CFC's.
